Our process began with an in-depth study of the vaQgrip product, its functionality, components, and the parameters most relevant to purchase decisions. We explored how users approach configuration, what influences their buying journey, and how automation could simplify this process. In parallel, we analysed comparable custom purchase platforms and modern trends, and shaped a roadmap. This research informed a clear visual user flow, designed to guide customers seamlessly from Impaqt Robotics’ existing online presence into the configurator. From there, we progressed through sketches, wireframes, and layout explorations, leading to the final prototype.


The vaQgrip configurator was built on a Material Design foundation, extending and enhancing the company’s brand language. Multiple layout variations were tested to arrive at a streamlined interface that balances clarity with flexibility. Custom icons were developed for each configurable part, aiding recognition and scalability across the product line. The flow allowed users to configure single or multiple parts and generate purchase requests with ease. A 2D canvas added an interactive layer, enabling users to visualise, measure, and snap parts together, making the process both intuitive and precise.
